In and around Fefor, we are lucky to have terrain that can accommodate almost any level of skiing and hiking. At Fefor, we prepare approximately 68 miles of cross-country skiing slopes, and all tracks start from the resort. As we are by ourselves up here, you as a guest can explore the untouched nature, let your mind wander, and experience the sound of silence that is rare these days. One of our guests once said, "To get the chance to go cross-country skiing by yourself in such nicely prepared slopes is really worth paying for". If you are not too busy, there are numerous stops along the way where you can take a break, rest, enjoy a piece of chocolate or an orange, or merely enjoy the views. And if you are lucky, you may catch a glimpse of the rich wildlife. One of the most beloved places to stop is the cabin of Haakon VII, a little log cabin outside of Fefor named after the royal family who often used to stop there. Our seasoned caretakers ensure miles of nicely prepared tracks, which they often do while everyone else is asleep. This way, everything is ready for you when you wake up, wanting to hit the slopes after breakfast.
We would also like to remind you that nature sometimes outmanoeuvres human efforts, covering the tracks in powder snow, which gives you a unique opportunity to explore the raw nature, feeling like Nansen, Scott, or Amundsen, leaving your own tracks. |
The various routes connect the slopes from Gålå and Skeikampen in the south with Dalseter and Espedalen to the northwest. These tracks are well-groomed for exploration!
